Departing form PAVAS airport heading west to fly over the Tarcoles River, watch the crocodiles on its banks and then over the Gulf of Nicoya to tour over Tortuga Island and surroundings and reach Isla Jesusita where Isla Chiquita resort is. This resort offers you some great cuisine and the opportunity to swim on the gulf waters. You can have lunch or a snack and the head back to San Jose.

Departure from PAVAS airport and fly towards POAS VOLCANO on the north of the CENTRAL VALLEY to observe the majestic views of the volcano and the plains of San Carlos basin, then depart to the east towards VOLCAN TURRIALBA passing the outskirts of IRAZU VOLCANO, the city of Cartago and on to the Turrialba Volcano. You will have the opportunity to see these two active volcanoes in a matter of minutes and then descend to an Estate to have lunch or just a snack before coming back to San Jose.

Departing from Tobias Bolaños Airport in San Jose, fly around the Central Valley over Heredia City, San Pedro, Curridabat, Escazú, Santa Ana, etc. Also included are Pico Blanco Mountain and the Cross of Alajuelita to give it a “countryside touch”.

RAINFOREST AND VOLCANO TOUR

Departs from Tobias Bolaños Airport in San José, flying east over La Palma mountain pass to Braulio Carrillo National Park. This park has a good extension of cloud forest, waterfalls and interesting river basins. Then to Río Sucio and west over the towns of Cinchona and San Miguel de Sarapiquí up to the Hule Lagoon. This lagoon is of volcanic origin and with unspoiled beauty. Then flying over the Rio Toro basin upstream with its exuberant waterfalls and ascending over the outskirts of the Poas Volcano to the crater. Fly over the Botos lagoon, which is an extinct crater as well as the actual one which has a sulfurous lagoon and water vapor emissions and occasionally ash. It’s an active volcano but not a dangerous one. Last, back over the City of Alajuela and Juan Santamaría International Airport.

Three Volcanoes tour

THREE VOLCANOES TOUR

Depart from Tobias Bolaños Airport heading towards Arenal Volcano. See the San Carlos plains from the air and then fly around Arenal and Cerro Chato, an extinct crater. Then to the Hule lagoon close to San Miguel de Sarapiqui. From there upstream the Toro River to the Poas Volcano outskirts, Botos lagoon and up to the active crater. From there on to the Barva Volcano (extinct) with its old craters, now natural lagoons. Then descend and land at Doka Estates for a coffee tour, quick snack or just stretch your legs. (seewww.dokaestate.com). After that we head back to San Jose.

Beach and crocodile

BEACH AND CROCODILE

Departs from Tobias Bolaños Airport in San Jose, fly to the west over La Garita de Alajuela, San Pablo de Turrubares to overfly Carrara Natural Reserve. Then travel to the coast starting at Herradura, Playa Escondida, Punta Leona and then to the river mouth of the Tarcoles River and upstream to the bridge. On this river you can see the crocodiles up close and the beauty of the area.

TWO OCEANS TOUR

Fly over lush forests of Braulio Carrillo National Park eastbound to Tortuguero National Park. Upon landing a boat will be ready to take you on a tour ride of the canals where you can admire the beauty of the flora and fauna and if you like you can take a dip in the Caribbean. Board the helicopter again and fly westward to the other coast, overflying Arenal Volcano, Lake Arenal to finally land at Las Catalinas for lunch. You will be served delicious food at the beach club right at the ocean and best of all, you can dip into the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Then take the helicopter back to San Jose and enjoy a freshly made capuccino upon arrival. Not in many places you can enjoy and experience two oceans on the same day and in a manner of hours.
